One of my favorite parts to starting any project is getting organized. Crafting a plan is my trademark thing. When I write I like to be surrounded by a collection of lists, notecards, sticky notes, and paper scraps. There’s something so satisfying about having all my ephemera within reach. Even now I’m rifling through pages of notes on this indulgent pathways idea — which reminds me, Jordan, make sure to update your About Page with a version of this:
Creating Show me the Way often felt like swimming in a chocolate river. It was so sweet, so indulgent, so scrummy and equal parts “oh wow, I’m tired, let’s go back.” This newsletter felt like one of my best and yet I hope to never spend as much time as I did on another one like it. Don’t get me wrong — I love what was created! It holds many tender bits from my journey of trying to force change. It is the closest I have ever been to wrestling feelings about the last few years into shareable words. And it still was chocolate river level of a struggle. Because that’s how it goes. Creating something is never easy. Some words come up & out onto the page faster than the ones that ask you to tread in place, not drink the illusion, and wait to be rescued by someone impeccably dressed (although somewhat peculiar.)
